Notlar In this letter, received 11 December 1802, Francis Warden, Sub-Secretary to the Government, Bombay, encloses an extract from a letter, dated 4 December 1802, from the Resident at Bussora [Basra], Samuel Manesty. In the extract, Manesty expresses his astonishment at the conduct of Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], Native Resident, Bushire, who informed the Government, in a letter dated 15 December 1802, that when the Baywas detained and plundered at the mouth of the Bussora river by Benniattabee [Bani Utbah] Arabs, they tore to pieces English colours which were delivered by Manesty. The extract concludes with Manesty stating that he will take the liberty of pointing out to Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun the extreme impropriety of his incorrect representations. | 1 folio | more | less
