Notlar	In this letter Ephraim Gerrish Stannus, Resident in the Persian Gulf, Bushire, requests a further supply of cash to enable him to complete the alterations at the Residency, which were detailed in his letter of 26 December 1823. Stannus gives a number of reasons for the difference between the estimated charges and the actual costs, including the speculation that materials such as glass for the windows, locks, hinges and other items were not taken into consideration when the expenses were calculated.
