In particular, the correspondence discusses the British authorities' attempts to convince the ruler of Kuwait, Shaikh Aḥmad al-Jābir Āl Ṣabāḥ, to allow Britain to assume responsibility for the protection of Persians resident in Kuwait.The file contains correspondence between the British Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, Francis Beville Prideaux and Shaikh Aḥmad that culminates with Britain enforcing the decision upon the Shaikh against his wishes.
