Notlar Samuel Hennell acknowledges the receipt of John Patterson Porter's letter of 26 August 1850. Hennell refers to a breach of the Maritime Truce by subjects of Sheik Mukhtoom [Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti bin Sohal] of Debaye [Dubai]. The subjects are alleged to have seized a number of Aboothabee [Abu Dhabi] boats and carried away four slaves and various articles. Hennell requests that Lieutenant James Tronson be given instructions to proceed to Debaye on the HC brig Euphrates, with a letter (not included) from Hennell to the Sheik. Hennell requests that Tronson is instructed to insist on the Sheik complying with the requisitions in Hennell's letter. | 1 folio | more | less
