Isḥaq, the physician, in which he asks for the remainder of the salary of al-Asʿad, the physician of the hospital of Cairo, consisting of 3 dirhams (i.e. he may be asking to replace al-Asʿad in his post). He offers the recommendations of two of the sultan’s other doctors: Al-Rašīd al-Dimašqī and Al-Rašīd Abū Ḥulayka. Ca. 13th century. The physician Makārim b.
