Notlar In this letter, William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, responds to an enquiry into the cost of procuring and sending to Calcutta some mares and a few desert Arab stallions. Bruce acknowledges that the rates that he has given may appear high, but he explains that this is due to the high rate of freight plus attendant expenses. He goes on to state in a postscript that if the Government could employ one of its own vessels to convey the cattle then the mares might be landed for 850 Sicca rupees and the mules for 250 Sicca rupees each. | 2 folios | more | less
