Notlar Letter relates to the conduct of Abdella ben Ahmed [Abdullah bin Ahmad] of Charrack [Bandar-e Charak] regarding property from the wrecked Ahmed Shah.William Bruce reports on Stephen Watson Henshaw's mission to retrieve the property in question. He also transmits a copy of a translation of a letter, received 30 July 1813, from Sultaun ben Sugger [Sulṭān bin Saqr Āl Qāsimī], who he states is much attached to the British Government. Bruce expresses his hope that the views of various chiefs in the Perisan Gulf will have some influence on Abdella ben Ahmed. Letter goes on to report on Bruce's correspondence with Hassan ben Rahma [Hasan bin Rahma, Āl Qāsimī ruler], the Shaik at Ras el Khima [Ra's al-Khaymah], regarding the alleged capture of boats travelling under British papers or colours. Bruce also reports that Arab Chief Rahma ben Jauber [Rahma bin Jabir] wishes to visit Bombay. The copy of the translated letter follows on from Bruce's letter. | 2 folios | more | less
