Notlar This volume relates to the Government of India's decision to issue a revised edition of Aitchison's Treaties (full title: A Collection of Treaties, Engagements and Sanads Relating to India and Neighbouring Countries). It is mainly comprised of interdepartmental correspondence discussing what should and should not be included in the revised edition.The first part of the volume, IOR/L/PS/10/1192/1 (ff 4-106), consists almost entirely of correspondence, mainly covering the following areas: Siam; Aden and the south coast of Arabia; Persia [Iran]; Afghanistan; Somaliland and Shoa [Shewa]; Zanzibar. Kashgar, Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan are also mentioned.The second part, IOR/L/PS/10/1192/2 (ff 107-368), in addition to correspondence, contains copies of proofs of revised narratives relating to Tibet, Siam [Thailand], Eastern Turkistan, and Nepal, including copies of related treaties, agreements and regulations for each. Also included are printed editions of three treaties relating to China.The main correspondents are the Foreign Secretary to the Government of India, and officials of the India Office and the Foreign Office.Each part includes a divider which gives the subject and part numbers, the year the subject file was opened, the subject heading, and a list of correspondence references contained in that part by year.
