Notlar A continuation of Kemball's letter to Malet of the previous day (ff 274-75), Kemball outlines the challenges faced by the Indian Naval Squadron in the Persian Gulf, given that there are three different sets of measures to be taken against vessels found carrying slaves, dependent on whether they are vessels from the Arabian coast, Persia, or the dominions of the Ottoman empire. Kemball attaches to his letter correspondence from his predecessor, Lt-Col Samuel Hennel (not included in the volume), and recommends that the opinions also be sought of Major Atkins Hamerton, Her Majesty's Consul and the Honourable Company's Agent in the dominions of His Highness the Imam of Muscat, and Captain Haines, the Political Agent at Aden. | 2 folios | more | less
