Notlar	The letter and its enclosures relate to the introduction of registers to Arab and Persian trading vessels visiting the port of Kurrachee [Karāchi]. Malet acknowledges receipt of Kemball’s earlier letters and encloses a number of items, as follows:Letter no.870 of 1853 (folios 37-38), a report from the Acting Collector of Customs at Karachi, Richard Spooner, dated 9 November 1853. The report is a response to Kemball’s recommendations for the introduction of registration papers for Arab and Persian trading vessels (folios 30-33). Spooner recommends the situation be left unchanged for the present;Letter no.871 of 1853 (folio 39), a second report from Spooner, dated 9 November 1853, which is a response to the additional comments made by Kemball in relation to his own recommendations (folios 34-35) \| 4 folios \| more \| less
