Notlar	The letter is a covering letter, enclosing an extract of paragraph 9 from despatch no.22 of 1854 (folio 344) from the Honourable Court of Directors, dated 22 November 1854. The extract refers to the case of slaves imported into the Persian coast by the vessel Mahmoodee. The extract states the importance of the case, owing to the refusal of the merchant to whom the slaves were consigned, to deliver them up to the Persian authorities.
