Notlar The letter is reporting that Commodore George Robinson's cruise of the Arabian Coast has been successful (a copy of the report is enclosed see ff 28-29), and an interim agreement has been put in space. It is stated that this will allow amble time for the Government to prepare instructions for the Resident's guidance.Enclosed with the agreement is a translation of an engagement entered into by the 'Maritime Chiefs', which ensures the continuation of the terms of the Maritime Truce 1843 until June 1853. The signatories are Sultan bin Suggur [Sulṭān bin Saqr] of the Joasmees [Quwāsim]; Saeed bin Tahnoon, Shaikh of the Beniyas and people of Aboothabee [Abu Dhabi]; Saeed bin Butye, Shaikh of Debaye [Dubai]; and Humaid bin Rashid, Shaikh of Amulgavine. | 3 folios | more | less
