Notlar	The letter is transmitting a copy of a letter dated 27 August 1824 from Mahomed bin Ullee [Muḥammad bin ‘Alī], Chief of the Beni boo Ali [Banī Bū ‘Alī] tribe, which requests that the British send a representative to inspect their dwellings, and that they provide assistance with rebuilding them. The letter therefore instructs the Resident to confer with Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd, the Imam of Muscat, on the propriety of rebuilding their homes in a more permanent fashion; the Resident is authorised to advance the sum required in the event he can secure the Imam's agreement. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
