Notlar	Enclosures to Despatch to the Secret Committee No. 11, dated 9 September 1837.The enclosures relate to the affairs of Oude [Oudh], subsequent to the accession of the new king [Muhammad Ali Shah, on 7 July 1837], and consist of correspondence and minutes dated 15 July-21 August 1837.The papers cover: the circumstances surrounding the installation by Lieutenant-Colonel John Low, Resident at Lucknow, of the new king, following an attempt to place a pretender on the throne (the Padshah Begum); reports of interviews between the Resident and the King; administrative affairs; and correspondence concerning proposals for a modified treaty with Oudh.The main correspondent is the Resident at Lucknow; the papers also include correspondence from the Political Secretary to the Government of India, Fort William (William Hay Macnaghten), and the King of Oudh.Note that the first part of the letter on folios 6-7 is not present, as the letter commences in mid-sentence. \| 1 item (99 folios) \| There is an abstract of contents of the despatch, numbered 1-28, on folios 2-5.
