Notlar	Final folio of a letter from Lewis Pelly to either Charles Alison, British Minister at Tehran, or Earl Canning, Viceroy of India reporting on news from Mermenah [Maīmanah] that the Wallee has come under attack from Feroosekohees and threats from Shibbergan [Shibirghān].The letter goes on to state that Pelly's intentions are to seek out the Prince Governor of Persia who had been commanding the defeated Persian Forces and provide assistance to him and his followers; to attempt to discover what had happened to the French photographer who had accompanied the army; to discourage the notion being carried around that Persia will be lost following this defeat; to discuss measures for the protection of the frontiers with Sultan Ahmed Khan. \| 2 folios \| Folios 47v-48v are blank. \| more \| less
