For their secrecy, these archives were kept separate from the archives of the Legation and then transmitted to the Public Record Office.The file is composed of correspondence between Foreign Office; India Office; Government of India; the Public Record Office; and the British Legation at Tehran. The file also contains translations of two letters written in 1854 by the Sultan of Muscat, Said bin Sultan. \| 1 file (75 folios) \| The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the rear to the front of the file. \| Foliation: the foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 79; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. \| more \| less
