It further explains that the Resident has deferred the reductions to the sepoy's battah [batta] due to the price of goods in Bushire, pending instructions from the Government of Bombay. It further notes two unnamed Sepoys whom he has retained in Bushire due to debt issues. \| 2 folios \| Condition: The item has suffered from pest damage, which has obscured some of the body of the letter on f. 114.
