Notlar	The letter is enclosing a translation of a communication from Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd, the Imam of Muscat, addressed to Mountstuart Elphinstone, Governor of Bombay, dated 14 November 1823.The enclosed communication indicates that the Imam has restored the Beni-boo-Ali [Banī Bū ‘Alī] Arabs to their 'native seats'. The letter therefore instructs the Resident to ascertain the truth of this on his first visit to 'that part of the Arabian coast'. The enclosure also notes that the Imam has released 'the Frenchmen' as per the wishes of the Governor of Bombay. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
