Notlar The letter relates to two discoveries of indigo, plundered from the ship Centaurin May 1852. Kemball reports that a quantity of indigo has been seized at Bahrain, by an Indian merchant at Muscat. A further discovery was made at Lingah [Bandar-e Lengeh].The item includes the following enclosures:1. A chart (folio 96), dated 3 March 1853, detailing the weights of the seventy-nine bags of indigo recovered from Bahrain, which total 109 and three-eighths of Bahrain Maunds;2. A statement folios (97-100) made by Khushal Banyan, an Indian subject, after being asked how it happened that he brought indigo at Muscat, knowing it was plundered from the Centaur;3. Letter no.20 of 1853 from Commodore George Robinson, Commanding Officer Persian Gulf Squadron, to Captain Arnold Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf, dated 20 February 1853. Robinson reports of the appearance and seizure by the Sheikh of Bandar-e Lengeh, of eighteen bags of indigo, taken from the Centaur. | 9 folios | more | less
