Notlar	The letter is informing the Resident at Bussorah [Basra] that Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd, the Imam of Muscat, plans on blockading that port; the Imam has outstanding claims against the Government of Bagdad [Baghdad]. It notes that the Imam has sought assurances of British neutrality, should he opt to seek redress in this manner.It reports that the Resident has got the Imam to agree to give him time to mediate his claim with the Government of Bagdad, and it is requested that Mr Taylor uses his influence with the Pasha of Bagdad to achieve a resolution; it is suggested that the vulnerability of Muscat to a blockade is highlighted. \| 3 folios \| more \| less
