Notlar The letter and enclosures relate to the capture by British naval officials of a presumably Turkish vessel found carrying twelve slaves. The enclosures are as follows:1. Letter no.157 of 1856 (folio 284) from Commodore Richard Ethersey, Commanding Officer Persian Gulf Squadron, to Jones, dated 6 August 1856, containing an account of the capture of the vessel by Lieutenant Dickson of the Falkland. A Turkish flag was found on board, but there were no papers, and the vessel’s captain and crew had fled the scene to the shore;2. Letter no.242 of 1856 (folio 285) from Jones to Ethersey, dated 17 August 1856, requesting that the vessel and its contents by impounded at Bassadore, while investigations are made regarding the boat;3. Letter no.246 of 1856 (folio 286) from Jones to Captain Arnold Kemball, Political Agent in Turkish Arabia, dated 18 August 1856, with particulars and enclosures (not in the file) relating to the case for enquiry.
