Notlar	The letter is a covering letter, sending Kemball an extract from a letter (folio 176) from the acting native agent at Muscat, dated 11 March 1853. The extract relates to repairs which are required to be made to the coal magazine at Muscat. The acting agent refers to the 'dangerous state' of the building, whose 'walls, the roofs and the foundation ... are in a ruinous state.' In the covering letter, the Secretary to the Government (Marine Department) requests that Kemball cause all such repairs as necessary to be made, though 'nothing however of an expensive character'.
