Notlar	The letter is informing the Bombay Government that, as requested, the Resident (on his return to Bushire) will make enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the substitution of a mare by the Broker at Muscat; it was claimed the original was not well enough to be sent to Bombay, but the Government believes it was substituted for an inferior replacement. It is noted that the mare was a gift from Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd, the Imam of Muscat, made to the late Andrew Jukes. \| 1 folio \| Condition: The item has suffered from pest damage, which has resulted in a hole in the fabric of the folio.
