Notlar Masoretic work collating similar verses in the text of the Bible. F. 2r and the first half of f. 2v consists of a list of similarly worded verses between Joshua and Judges, and between Samuel and Chronicles (predominantly). Each pair of verses is provided with a mnemonic to capture the differences. Half way down f. 2v another list of similar verses begins, proceeding through Genesis. F. 1 continues this list, covering from Genesis 27 to Genesis 40. In the original codex, therefore, the textual commentary on the Former Prophets would have preceded the textual commentary on the Torah. | Layout: 15-16 lines | more | less
