Notlar	Memorandum regarding a conspiracy to replace Sirdar Sultan Ahmed Khan as Governor of Herat which Pelly became aware of on arrival at Meshed [Mashhad] and which had allegedly occured in about June or July 1860.The memorandum discusses reports that the Shahzadeh Mahomed Riza [Muhammad Reza] had been hiding on the borders of Herat territory and that he possessed documents purporting to be from the English Government supporting him as ruler of Herat, and that Pelly intended to determine what these papers were and to reassure Sultan Ahmed Khan that Her Majesty's Government were in no way involved. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
