Notlar Correspondence dated 1926, exchanged between the Political Agent at Bahrain (Major Cyril Charles Johnson Barrett) and the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf (Lieutenant-Colonel Francis Beville Prideaux), regarding the distribution of the Bahrain Political Agency’s diaries. The correspondence specifically concerns a request from the Commander-in-Chief of the East Indies Station, and the Senior Officer (Intelligence) at Colombo, for a copy of the Bahrain political diary. The request is protested against and vetoed by the Political Resident, who states that his own monthly summaries, which collate information from his Political Agents’ diaries, should suffice. A later letter in the file, from the Secretary to the Political Resident to his Political Agents, dated 3 January 1929, refers to submissions of a fortnightly diary by the Residency Agent at Sharjah (f 9). | 1 file (8 folios) | The file’s contents are arranged in approximate chronological order, from the earliest item at the front to the latest at the end. | The foliation sequence commences at the front cover with 1 and terminates at the inside back cover with 10; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is also present in parallel between ff 4-8; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled. | more | less
