Kemball writes that the Imam is currently ascertaining the extent to which he can exert authority over the chiefs of the region. Enclosed with Kemball’s letter is a translation of a letter (folios 240-41) from Khojeh Hiskale, the British Agent at Muscat, dated 28 May 1854. In his letter Hiskale reports on meetings between various Bedouin chiefs of the Batinah Coast, and the Imam of Muscat. \| 3 folios \| more \| less
