Kemball writes that the Imam is currently ascertaining the extent to which he can exert authority over the chiefs of the region. Enclosed with Kemball’s letter is a translation of a letter (folios 240-41) from Khojeh Hiskale, the British Agent at Muscat, dated 28 May 1854.
