Notlar	James Dow, Assistant Surgeon, temporarily in charge of the Residency, refers to his letter of 23 August 1820, in which he reported that he had received a request for a sum of money equal to one lak [lakh] of Bombay rupees from the commanding officer of the British troops stationed on the Island of Keshme [Qeshm]. Dow states that, having already transmitted 50,000 rupees to the pay master at Keshme, he has now negotiated for a further 50,000 rupees to be transmitted, thus completing the remainder of the lak [100,000 rupees]. \| 1 folio \| more \| less
