Notlar	In this letter, James Dow, Assistant Surgeon, temporarily in charge of the Residency, responds to a request for a loan of money, equal to one lak [lakh] of Bombay rupees, for the use of the troops at Kishme [Qeshm] by stating that he has granted a set of bills of exchange for a sum equal to 50,000 Bombay rupees. Dow states that the amount will be transmitted to Kishme on board the Honourable Company cruiser, the Benares. He requests that a receipt be furnished in duplicate to the Residency. He further requests that the Government of Bombay be advised of the transaction with as little delay as possible. \| 1 folio \| more \| less
