Notlar The letter is an acknowledgement of receipt of Kemball’s earlier letter (folios 206-08) relating to shipwreck and plunder of the vessel Fath-el-Khyeroff the Oman coast with 200 tonnes of coal. Anderson writes that the Government approves of Kemball’s proceedings, and awaits the results of his investigations. He also writes that the Commander in Chief of the Indian Navy and the Military Board have both been informed of events. Anderson further adds that a copy of Kemball’s letter has been sent to Major Atkins Hamerton, Her Majesty’s Consul and the Honourable Company’s Agent in the dominions of His Highness the Imam of Muscat. A copy of the covering letter sent by Anderson to Hamerton, no.2764 of 1854, is enclosed with the letter to Kemball (folio 213). In the letter, Anderson requests that Hamerton make strong representation to the Imam of Muscat over the incident. | 2 folios | more | less
