It concerns supplies for the British Persian Mission and the exchange of gold coins for Eyn Piasters [piastres]. A further enclosure is included with this letter, this is a letter from Charles Pasley to Neil Benjamin Edmonstone, Secretary in the Secret, Political and Foreign Department, Fort William, Calcutta, dated 6 November 1808. It concerns the transfer of the Captain's official duties respecting Persia to Sir Harford Jones [Brydges]. In addition, it praises Jafer Ali Khan [Ja‘afar ‘Alī Khān], William Bruce and Andrew Jukes for the work they have done during the Captain's time as Acting Envoy Extraordinary to Persia.2.
