Letter from Captain Charles Pasley, Acting for Brigadier-General John Malcolm to William Bruce, Acting Resident at Bushire, dated 12 November 1808. It concerns supplies for the British Persian Mission and the exchange of gold coins for Eyn Piasters [piastres]. A further enclosure is included with this letter, this is a letter from Charles Pasley to Neil Benjamin Edmonstone, Secretary in the Secret, Political and Foreign Department, Fort William, Calcutta, dated 6 November 1808. It concerns the transfer of the Captain's official duties respecting Persia to Sir Harford Jones [Brydges]. In addition, it praises Jafer Ali Khan [Ja‘afar ‘Alī Khān], William Bruce and Andrew Jukes for the work they have done during the Captain's time as Acting Envoy Extraordinary to Persia.2.
