Notlar Family letter sent from an individual described as ‘his servant the son’ who is in a village, writing to his family in the capital. As greeting are also sent to his sister, it may well be an actual son writing to his father. He asks for news and discusses shipments as well as what appear to be seasonal labourers. The writer complains he had to buy one young man clothes at a price far higher than the usual half dinar and states that he would hire him again were he to accept the same terms of employment as other young men of his type.
