Notlar Pale green glazed faience amulet in the form of a wadjet-eye. The piece os pierced from side to side for suspension. The details of the eye are given on both sides by means of modeling and incised lines. These details are the same on both sides. The eyebrows are decorated with a series of chevron-shaped lines while the "beards" are decorated with a series of vertical lines. A short series of diagonal lines connects the front part of the brow to the top of the upper eyelid. The outer edges of the piece correspond to the outlines of the eye except for the fact that the space between the "ty.t" and brow is solid. Condition: The entire piece is stained brown; one of the sides is worn and there are, on this side, two small holes in the upper eyelid. | more | less
