Notlar	The letter relates to the forthcoming season’s slave trade between East Africa and the Gulf. Jones writes that most vessels returning with slaves land their cargo at Soor [Ṣūr] or points further south, and then march slaves overland to the Arab coast, in order to avoid British patrols.
