Notlar The letter states that a letter was received from Bussora [Basra] on 1 August requesting Bombay Merchants in Bushire to wait there for the arrival of Captain Francis M. Henry who had had arrived in Bussora with confidential documents from the Court of Directors. It is explained that since the Bombay Merchants had already left it was arranged with Shaikh Nassir for a sum of 2,000 rupees to transport Captain Henry onwards. However, Captain Henry and Mr. Daniel Fitzgerald Griffin arrived 4 August 1778 and were taken to Bombay onboard the BetsySnow by Lieutenant Brice Hardy. Shaikh Nassir was paid half the agreed amount for his troubles. The letter notes that George Green will also travel to Bombay due to ill health. Accounts for the previous year were enclosed with the letter - the accounts report a loss and this is discussed in some detail.
