Much of the correspondence relates to the Consulate building itself including the period after the French Government closed the Consulate and the building was taken over by the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman and subsequently rented out to private entities. The file contains a limited amount of correspondence with local officials that is in Arabic (with English translations). \| 1 file (36 folios) \| The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file. \| Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 38; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is present in parallel between ff 1-16; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled.
