Notlar In this letter, received 21 July 1802, Samuel Manesty, Resident at Bussora [Basra], acknowledges the receipt of a letter from Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], Native Resident at Bushire, which enclosed a further remittance of 2,000 piasters, on account of the Honourable Company. Manesty goes on to write about a boat named the Bay,which was detained and plundered in the previous year by Beneattabee [Bani Utbah] Arabs. Manesty expresses his astonishment that Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun, in a letter to the Government, dated 15 December 1801, stated that the boat had British colors [colours] on board at the time. Manesty argues that the boat was not carrying British colors. Manesty concludes by informing the Native Resident that the Shrewsburyship is departing for Bushire on her way to Bengall [Bengal]. | 1 folio | more | less
