Notlar	Letter reporting on an incident which had occured on Pelly's arrival which he had not felt necessary to report previously as it was a personal matter, but which certain individuals had since attempted to use as a way of prejudicing the Herat minister against Pelly.The incident in question occured the evening before Pelly's arrival in Herat when he had been met by the Minister and taken to a Garden House outside the city. Part of the upper level of the house was unfloored and in the dark Pelly had almost stepped into it but for the Minister grabbing him and pulling him to safety. Pelly reports that he had laughed the incident off at the time and that it had simply been caused by the fashion to leave buildings unfinished. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
