Notlar The letter is a reply to Malet's earlier letter (folio 15), asking for information on the plunder of the cargo of two boats belonging to Bahrain [including the capture of sixty people from Kateef [al Qatif]) by Sheikh Humud ben Mujdel of Junnah. Kemball writes that he was not aware that the prosecution of Sheikh Humud remained pending, but has written to Sheikh Mahomed ben Khuleefa [Muhammad bin Khalifa], ruler of Bahrain, asking him to explain 'his share in the outrage'. Kemball encloses the translation of the letter sent to Sheikh Muhammad, dated 14 March 1853. | 3 folios | more | less
