Notlar	In this letter Ephraim Gerrish Stannus, Resident in the Persian Gulf, Bushire, refers to William Newnham's letter of 24 December 1823, which concerned the maintenance of a public table at the Residency during the Resident's absence. Stannus reports that, during his recent tour of the Arabian coast, Assistant Surgeon James Pringle Riach kept a public table at Bushire and charged the expenses thereof to the Government of Bombay.
