Yaḥya), of Fusṭāṭ. Quotes Proverbs 12:20. Ff. 1v-2: copy of a letter, dated 1090 CE, from Evyatar ha-Gaʾon b. Elijah, in Tyre, to the leaders of the Jewish community in Babylon and Hezekiah ha-Kohen b. Joseph ha-Kohen ‘Av of the Yešiva of the Exile’, sending greetings from his sons Elijah ha-Kohen and Ṣadoq ha-Kohen, and his son-in-law ʿAmram ha-Kohen he-Ḥaver ha-Meʿūlle b. Aaron, and answering the addressee’s question relating to negotiations between a widow, who resides in Babylon, and her brother-in-law, Abū Ṭāhir, of Tyre, in a complex levirate case. Also mentions Samuel b. Aaron the money-changer, and Abū ʿAlī Ḥasan (known as al-baqqāl ‘the greengrocer’). Quotes Psalms 121:2 and Proverbs 8:15.
