The Assistancehad been attacked by Galfar forces 14 days previous. The SuccessKetch is also reported to have been attacked by a group of Galfar ships, a group that included the recently captured English vessel. The letter also reports news that Shaikh Rashed had demanded more than the 2,000 rupees offered by the intermediary Saffir for the return of the captured vessel.
