Notlar Letter reporting the departure for the Bombay Presidency of part of Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald's escort consisting of a Duffadar (commandant) and Sixteen Sewars (horsemen) belonging to the Poonah [Pune] auxilliary horse, on board the Bugla Mahmudy.The letter goes on to discuss a Jemidar and six troopers who had been left behind at Tabriz and had been instructed to travel direct to Bushire but had not arrived, and which Colonel Stannus had discovered had disobeyed their orders and chosen to travel via Bagdad [Baghdad] and Kerbala [Karbalā], but that there exact whereabouts was unknown. | 1 folio | more | less
