Notlar In this letter Arnold Burrowes Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf, refers to his letter of 6 September (no. 248, ff 10-11), which concerned the seizure of several consignments of indigo, which had formed part of the cargo of the plundered ship, the Centaur.Kemball states that he has been informed by the Government of Bombay that the underwriters of the indigo which was plundered from the Centaurhave sent instructions to Remington and Company of Bombay to appoint someone to identify the property and prosecute their claim to it. Kemball requests that William Taylour Thomson, Her Majesty's Chargé d'Affaires at the Court of Persia, obtain a vizierial [vizerial] letter from the Persian ministers directing the Dureya Beggee [Governor of Bushire] to deliver to Kemball's charge the aforementioned indigo, which is at present under embargo at Bushire. | 1 folio | more | less
