Enclosed is a letter to the commanders of the expedition (a copy of which is present).Enclosed letter (dated 27 July 1768): to Charles Elphinstone and Lawrence Nelson, Commanders in Chief of the expedition against Carrack [Kharg]. The letter gives instructions for what to do depending on whether or not Karim Khan sends troops. Specifically, the movement of ships, the distribution of supplies and equipment, and how to deal with the Persian troops.
