Notlar The letter is reporting that as a result of an agreement reached between Shaikh Saeed ben Guzeeb, Chief of Lingah [Bandar-e-Lengeh], and Mirza Naeem, Commander of the Persian forces, the Joasmee [Quwāsim] allies of the former have left Lingah. Background details on how this agreement was reached are included. It notes that in consequence, the Fars Province may be regarded as settled, and the supreme authority of Futeh Ally Khan considered established. It does however note that the coast around Shewoo remains unsettled due to a feud between the Beni Humood and the Abeydil tribes. It further reports that the port of Sherwoo has been taken by Yoosoof ben Moobarek, late Chief of Nabend, and his Congoon allies. Also reported in the letter is that against the Resident's expectations Abbass Khan has given up his fort at Zeerah, but it notes that in violation of his surrender terms he has been placed in irons at Bushire. It explains that the Prince at Shiraz has made a proposal to free Abbass Khan, but notes that this has been rejected by the subject himself. It further reports that Roostum Khan has returned to Shuboon Kara having reached agreement with the Hajee Kuwaum. | 3 folios | more | less
