Kemball reports on his interview with Sheikh Mahomed ben Khalifa [Muhammad bin Khalifa], ruler of Bahrain, with particular reference to Sheikh Muhammad's intentions to blockade the port of Demaum [Dammām] in order to prevent an invasion by adherents to his kinsmen and Wahabee [Wahhabi] forces. The translated substance of a letter from the Bahrain Agent Hajee Jassem in enclosed with Kemball's letter (folio 21, bound in front of Kemball's covering letter), dated 12 May 1853.
