Notlar	In this letter William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, acknowledges the receipt of Government commands, dated 18 September 1819 and received on 10 December 1819, which expressed the Government's approval of Bruce's actions, both in sending a person to act as a broker at Katife [Al-Qatif] and in providing assistance to Captain George Forster Sadleir. Bruce goes on to suggest maintaining the presence of a broker at Katife, on the grounds that it acts as a check on the predatory habits of the Arab chieftains of the Gulf. \| 2 folios \| more \| less
