Notlar Beautifully illuminated carpet page in blue, gilt and white on yellowish paper. The verses are separated by circular designs in gilt. The margins are broad and the rulings are also gilt. This complete text of the Qur’an is illuminated with the finest grade of Lazurite and ground gold paint. The gold has been burnished in some areas creating depth in the design. Lazurite derives its name from lazaward, the Persian word for blue, and is used extensively in Islamic art.
