Notlar A reissue of the 1591 edition edited by Giovanni Battista Raimondi. The printing of the work was interrupted before the title page and prefatory matter intended to have occupied p. 1-8 could be printed, and begins on page 9 with the caption title: "Bashārat Yasuʻ al-Masīḥ kamā kataba Mār Mattay waḥid min athni ʻashar min talāmīdh. Euangelium Iesu Christi quemadmodum scripsit Mar Mattheus unus ex duodecim discipulis eius." This 1774 edition is made up of the original sheets, with the addition of 4 preliminary leaves containing titlepage and preface., "The early printed editions of the Arabic Gospels are all forms of the 'Alexandrian Vulgate.' This name is given to a revision made towards the end of the thirteenth century, which, however, is little more than the text of Vat. Copt. 9 (a diglot codex written in 1202, containing an Arabic version of the Bohairic N.T.) [with insertions from the Syriac or the Greek]"--Historical catalogue of the printed editions of Holy Scripture in the Library of the British and Foreign Bible Society, entry 1636., Preface signed: "Caesar Malanimeus.", Illustrated with 149 woodcuts, printed from 68 blocks, by Leonardo Norsino (called Parasole) after Antonio Tempesta., Text within double ruled borders., Colophon: "Romae In Typographia Medicea.
